Windows XP has got a GUI Network Diagnostics tool built-in. This tool can perform a series of Network scans and display results in a nice presented format. This can also be exported to a file, if needed to send to a technician offcite to troubleshoot. To invoke the tool, Click Start – Run and type hcp://system/netdiag/dglogs.htm Click Scan your system It will run a sequence of tests and display results as shown in this screenshot
The tool provides an option to set the scan options. These include, testing the DHCP, DNS servers.
